Sensei Hamabe Takeru a 6th Dan Judoka graduated from the National Police Academy Japan and was in charge of the Criminal Investigation - INTERPOL Japan. Trained in Judo, he was posted as a JICA judo instructor to Malaysia back in 1970 and was station in Penang in charge of the Malaysian National Team. His coaching stints took him to several countries as National Judo coach bringing exceptional results in International Games notably the SEA Games. Currently he is in charge of the Malaysian team and helps promote Judo to youth.

Justin Khoo started out Judo in 1996. His first Judo teacher was Sensei M.T Veloo. He furthered his Judo in Japan under the guidance of Sensei T. Koshino and Sensei Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki both World Judo Champions. Under all three sensei’s guidance, he gained an in-depth knowledge on Judo both Physical and Spiritual. Currently he is holding a 2nd Degree Black Belt from Kodokan and also from International Judo Federation. He also hold a coaching license certified by the National Sports Council and also the Malaysian Judo Federation.
BUDO ACADEMY PENANG ISLAND - HEAD INSTRUCTOR

Md. Nashriq B. Md. Nassir started Judo in 2001. He is a graduate from International Budo University Japan majoring in Judo under Sensei Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki. He holds a 1st Degree Black Belt and currently representing Malaysia at the international level.
BUDO ACADEMY PENANG MAINLAND CHIEF INSTRUCTOR

Chong Wei Liang is one of the fastest rising coaches in Penang. Currently he is in charge of Budo Academy in Bukit Mertajam, Penang Mainland. A SUKMA gold medalist in 2003. He believes in nothing but hardwork and dedication to whatever you do. He is also a certified instructor registered with the National Sports Council of Malaysia.

Ooi Way Loon is known for his tireless work rate in Judo and is easily considered as the most hard working judoka in Penang. To accompany his work rate is his achievement where he is considered as the top two player in the country under the -66kg category. He holds a Black Belt 1st Degree in Judo.

Chew Li Ying is a senior judoka in Penang team and helps teach the juniors. Her pleasent personality makes her a great with judotots. Do not let her innocent face fool you as she is currently the national champion in the women -78kg and also a bronze medalist in the SEA Judo Championship 2006.
