ASIA OCEANA CHANBARA CHAMPIONSHIP 2008
Published September 2nd, 2008 in Achievements.Malaysia was the host for the 3rd edition of the Asia Oceana Chanbara Championship. Teams from Japan, Korea, Pakistan, New Caledonia, Thailand Singapore, Indonesia, Nepal and Malaysia confirmed their participation. This time around, team Malaysia send a strong team comprising of 5 seniors and 7 juniors to fight. Overall Malaysia was placed 2nd behind Japan with 5 Golds. Yeang Kong Zheng again showed he is a force to be reckon with as he created a surprise by defeating Kawabata, the world champion in the Kihon Dosa Grand Champion Final. Although some players did not receive medals, thier fighting spirit and determination certainly made them stand out in their very own right. Congratulations to the everyone involved including the organizing chairman Sensei Johnny Seow who made the event an unforgetable one.
